The roof systems include the decking (plywood), underlayment, shingles, ventilation and insulation. All of these individual members combined, make your home’s roofing system.
How do you determine that my home’s plywood needs to be replaced?
Your roof’s decking is the base of your roofing system. It is critical that it is an acceptable condition for installing a new roofing system. Factors that help us determine whether the decking is adequate is the decking strength, its moisture content and if it’s free from mold. To ensure your roofing system will last its complete life, all three factors must be met. Most roofs may have only a few sheets that need to be replaced, others may need to be entirely re-sheeted.
How do you ensure that my home will be free from all nails?
We can ensure a perfect clean up by tarping off all areas underneath the roof. Once all the tarps are cleaned, we utilize high strength magnetic rollers on all landscaping, grass and driveways. To make certain that the property is entirely cleaned up, we will walk around the property and ensure that no nails are left behind.
Do you reuse metal flashings?
Depending on the condition of the existing flashing, we may reuse it. It is rare that step flash will need to get replaced. The sales profession will look at all areas that have step flashing and will disclose any concern he may have regarding the step flashing.
Do you flash chimneys?
Yes, we custom bend, flash and cut all chimneys on the roof. We do this because the chimney penetration is one of the most common areas for leaking. Due to their complicated nature, we have developed our own process to ensure a leak free chimney for the life of the roofing system.
What is the process once I sign?
When you have made your decision and decide to sign with Rochester Pro Roofing, your sales representative will reach out and schedule a date to pick up the required deposit. Typically on the date that the deposit is paid, you will know around how many weeks until we can get started on your project. Your sales representative will keep in contact with you regarding the exact date. We understand that having pallets of materials and a dumpster on your driveway is an inconvenience, this is why we do our best at scheduling deliveries at most, 2 days from expected start date. It is also why we schedule the dumpster pick up as soon as the project is completed.
Why do you require a deposit?
All payment terms are clearly broken down in each of our estimates. A deposit covers both us as the contractor and you as an individual. We understand that it can be hard to find contractors you can trust, and this is why we only charge 33% of the total project and will not take your deposit until we have a clear start date. We will also not take deposits no more than a month in advance. This is all done to ensure that you have peace of mind knowing you found a contractor who you can trust.

Ridge ventilation not only gives your roof a slicker, modern look, but also increases positive airflow for your roofing system.

During the process our installers will set up the power ladder. The power ladder is a machine that allows for us to haul all shingles and materials to the roof safely without tiring out our employees.
At what time does a roof replacement generally begin?
Depending on the distance needed to drive in the morning, we begin tearing off between the hours of 7:00 am to 8:00 am.
How do you ensure that it does not rain during the replacement of my roof?
We try our best to schedule your roof replacement on days it does not rain. In rare events there may be a surprise weather system that may come through. We ensure that your home is protected in the event of a rain event, with tarps and water tightening after a section has been torn off.
What does watertight mean?
Watertight means the roof areas have been completely torn off and all underlayments have been installed properly and are free of any penetrations.
What are the stages of a roof replacement project?
The first step is preparing the area around the home. During this step we place tarps all around the home and drop tarps from the bottom of the roof’s eves. We will move any furniture out of the way and construct plywood protection over anything that is needed. Next we begin the tear off process. During this stage we are removing and inspecting all areas of the roof. Once all areas are free of nails and the necessary decking was replaced, we will begin installing ice and water shield and the premium synthetic underlayment, to make watertight. When watertight, we will draw up the rest of the roofing material and start installing your new roofing system. Finally when the entire roof is complete, we will finalize the clean up portion and do a final walk around to ensure that everything is in order.
Do you provide any discounts?
